Afternoon Flying Kite in Nanwan / Maobitou Park / Guanshan Sunset
Evening Kenting Night Market
HotelGau Shang Ching Hotel, Kenting

In the morning we spent almost two hours from KaoHsiung to Tu Li Gong which is the biggest goddess house and the Taiwanese believe that the goddess of the island is there. Tu Li Gong is famous in granting the wish by taking a fortune telling stick from a bamboo container. The How-To says that we have to pay respect to Buddha first, then pick a bamboo stick, then grab the pea-like fortune teller and throw it down three times, while throwing it out, think of the result (1-Both up; 2-Both down, 3-one up&one down). You are only allowed to get the result by the number written on the stick, only if your 3 guesses are correct. If a guess is wrong, it means your wish is not granted.

Another famous thing there was the rosary. They have tons of rosaries there. You may pick any one you want (but please donate some money to the temple). After picking the rosary, take it to the joss stick pot, move it around the pot for 3 times to get incense smoke.

In the afternoon, we went to the LongPan Park which is the attraction on a high cliff. It was extremely beautiful. It was so windy and made my hair busy, but I love the place very much.

After we took enough pictures, we were brought to the South Bay Recreation Area to play kite, the one that we painted in Taichung. When we were there, there were also lots of students from Taipei sharing the beach, but we weren’t allowed to even touch the sea water.

After playing kite, we moved to MaoBiTou that means cat’s head. It’s the most southern part of the Taiwan island. There’s a custom that after high school graduation, the kids from Taipei will make a trip to visit the southest part of the island. The place was nice but not very interesting.

We spent the night in Gau Shang Shing hotel which is located opposite to the entrance of the Kenting National Park. This hotel is the most luxurious hotel we stayed. The food there was the greatest since I was in Taiwan too.

After dinner, we walked around the Kenting Night Market. The street was nice but there was nothing interesting again ‘cos the stuff there were made in Thailand and Indonesia, repeat “THAILAND and Indonesia”!!! The only interesting thing for me was Snoopy Land. It’s actually just a shop that sells cute stuff with snoopy on it, but everything was damn expensive.
